Jewelry Repair
Bay Street Jewelers’ repair service is state-of-the-art. Our 80 joule LaserStar I-Weld uses light energy to weld noble metals to themselves. This weld is done at the molecular level, resulting in a weld that is one metal, virtually free from heat, in very localized areas for precision. Old methods required a torch with high heat that could damage enamel or stones. Our Certified Gemologist specializes in all aspects of jewelry repair, custom design, and gemological knowledge. All work is done on premises.
Watch Repair
We have an accredited quartz watch technician in-house. Watch battery replacement and repairs are done on the premises.

We also have an off-site watchmaker that has subcontracted with us for 30 years and specializes in your vintage watch collections.
Appraisals
Our Certified Gemologist, trained by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and the American Gem Society (AGS) , and one of only eleven Certified Gemologists in South Carolina, performs written appraisals appropriate for insurance purposes. Please call to schedule your appraisal which is done by appointment only.
Custom Designs
We can bring your ideas to life by creating a Malakan CAD (computer-assisted design) image detailing the item before the work is done. This allows you to view a computer illustration of the item and make any desired changes before the piece is made. This service is available by appointment only.

Our in-house specialist can restring your pearl necklaces and bracelets and will work with you on custom stringing projects.
